USK’S OWN WINTERS TALE

in Twyn Square when the town played host to the Usk Christmas Festival. The stallholders in the market who offered a cornucopia of gifts, crafts and a large choice of foods to satisfy all tastes had a busy time.

The Flying Shepherds, Millennium Chimes, and Usk Town Band, The children of Llanfair Kilgeddin School and The Black Rat Affect, rock band, provided entertainment to satisfy all musical tastes.

The town was also fortunate not to have just one famous face amongst its visitors but three!  David Essex musician and actor visited The Gallery in the Square to meet artist Goff Danter and before leaving to appear in the matinee ‘All the Fun of the Fair’ in Cardiff, he delighted many fans with a chat, autograph and photo opportunity.

Matt Tebbutt TV Chef and owner of The Foxhunter gave a mouth-watering cookery demonstration in the square.

On Sunday Father Christmas in his sleigh pulled by 6 Reindeer arrived to rapturous applause.

Thanks must be given to  those who put in a lot of time and energy to provide a very enjoyable and successful weekend.
